"Turn the tide elsewhere"

Films: Atlantic Rim (2013), Atlantic Rim: Resurrection (2018)

Alias: Dinosauria, the Crustaceans

Type: Ancient

Location: Ocean/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of large buildings.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: You act like you didn't see this coming? Of course the Asylum was going to pull a Mockbuster on everyone and unleash this guff twice. And when you're ripping off one of the most awesome American kaiju flicks around, expectations are going to be high. These films...didn't live up to any of it, obviously.

History: Out of nowhere, ancient sea monsters are rising from the ocean to terrorize mankind and destroy the city. These include a family of saurian titans known as the Dinosauria, and later a horde of crab-like beasts that multiply faster then they are killed. Only one thing can stop them. And it's, you guessed it, giant robots piloted by frankly some of the least-adept people alive. Prepare to hate every single one of them as they are inexplicably put in charge of saving the planet from annihilation.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The Dinosauria mother is killed in an admittingly supreme way, with the lead robot driving it into space with a nuke attached so that it blows up away from the people. As for the crustaceans, the horde combines into an adult, which is killed by a couple robot sacrifices.

Powers/Abilities: All monsters have impervious hides to conventional weaponry, and the crustaceans are explosive breeders, capable of producing hundreds of young even after death. The babies can also combine into an adult, and produce acidic spit.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-The horrible CGI continues to torpedo any chances of having any monster be a threatening presence. The Dinosauria look like psychotic seahorses mixed with lizards, and their anatomy is completely wonky. The crustaceans fare a bit better, with their monstrous designs and how their babies come in droves as they massacre all in their path. But again, a higher budget would have done them all justice.

Trivia: -Dinosauria rather appropriately looks like a spinosaurid, the family of theropod dinosaurs known to have adapted to a life around or even in the water.

-For some reason, a common nickname for Dinosauria, whose name is only known outside of the film, is Jimbo. Also, during filming for the first film, the Asylum was barred from filming at the Naval Air Station Pensacola due to the officials hating how the soldiers were written.

An Asylum exec must have shouted this at the top of his lungs. New film, everybody.

Rage of Reptilicus.

These parents need to corral their kids!
Trespasser's wife is mighty pissed!

Bad boy! BAD!

Why didn't we get to see THEM?!

"I AM A KING PRAWN!"
What was the marketing in-universe for a face like that?

One of Micheal Bay's Jaegers?

Manda, you've gotten ripped!

Still more emotional drive than the actual Anteverse kaiju.

Cue the crab rave meme.
